Barry is one of the founding directors of Practical Finance DAC and Practical Financial Services Ltd. With over 20 years’ experience in the industry, he’s known for his hands-on, face-to-face approach to lending.
Barry built Practical Finance on the principles of personal service and fast turnaround. His background includes senior roles at Citi Financial, Avco Trust, and Everyday Finance, where he developed strong broker relationships and a deep understanding of customer needs.

Director & Customer Relationship Manager
Pat has over 35 years’ experience in the Irish financial services sector. He’s worked with a range of institutions including Woodchester Credit Lyonnais and GE, delivering finance solutions across motor, plant, and commercial property.
Since joining Practical Finance in 2014, Pat has helped grow the company’s presence across the West. He’s also a fully qualified QFA.
Niamh Leneghan QFA

Niamh has over 20 years of experience in financial services, having worked with Permanent TSB Finance, First Citizen Finance, and Finance Ireland. She’s built strong relationships with car dealerships, agri vendors, and equipment suppliers across Ireland.
Niamh brings energy, empathy, and technical knowledge to every customer conversation and is a fully qualified QFA.

Adrian joined the team in 2014 and brings first-hand experience from his background in the motor trade. He works directly with clients throughout Galway, offering reliable advice and tailored finance options.
Adrian has developed a deep knowledge of vehicle finance and is currently completing his QFA qualification.

Tom joined the team in Practical Finance in 2018. Tom came from a background in the insurance industry and he was able to adapt his knowledge to the finance sector.
In his time with Practical Finance Tom has built strong relationships with his dealers and customers alike. Tom enjoys interacting with dealers and customers, securing the best product for both. Tom is APA qualified.
Ruth Sheridan

Joining in 2019, Ruth is responsible for the processing of the applications and verifying the data. Ruth liaises with our customers, dealers and financial institutions on a daily basis on behalf of Practical Finance DAC.
Ruth is APA qualified and is working towards her QFA.

Rachel joined our team in 2022. Rachel has a strong background in banking and worked for KBC Bank for over 6 years.
Rachel has built up a strong relationship with our customers, dealers and lenders and enjoys being able to find the financial product that best suits our customers. Rachel is APA qualified.
Howard Hackett

Financial Controller
Howard has over 14 years’ experience as a Financial Controller in the transport and logistics sector, and more than 5 years in financial services with Everyday Finance and Finance Ireland.
A qualified CPA with an MSc in Computer Science, Howard joined Practical Finance in 2017 and oversees finance operations, VAT, and audit functions.

Brendan is a founding director of Practical Finance DAC and Practical Financial Services Ltd. He also established Everyday Finance in 2007, acquiring Citibank Ireland’s consumer loan portfolio.
As former COO of Finance Ireland Group, Brendan brings strategic insight and deep sector knowledge. He is a Fellow Chartered Accountant.
